FIFA — the Fédération Internationale de Football Association — was founded in Paris in 1904 and held its first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930. The tournament has been played every four years since (except 1942 and 1946 due to World War II) and has grown into the most-watched single sporting event on Earth, with the 2022 final between Argentina and France drawing over a billion viewers.
Club football has its own parallel history: the European Cup launched in 1955 and became the UEFA Champions League in 1992. No sport has bigger GOAT arguments than football. Pelé won three World Cups (1958, 1962, 1970). Each FIFA quiz on Daily Trivia is five questions covering World Cups, Champions League finals, top scorers, transfer records, and the great clubs and players. Three difficulty levels let you tune the challenge: Easy hits the obvious legends and recent World Cup winners; Medium gets into specific seasons, top scorers, and managerial history; Hard goes after lesser-known international tournaments, historical records, and tactical details.
Because international and club football run on different calendars, we treat both equally. Expect Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga questions alongside Copa América, AFCON, Euros, and World Cup material. Women's football and the FIFA Women's World Cup are also represented.
How to Win at FIFA Trivia
Memorize every World Cup winner since 1930 — there have only been 22 tournaments and just eight different champions. Learn the Ballon d'Or winners of the last 25 years. Know the top scorers in each major league for at least the last five seasons. Get familiar with iconic transfers: Zidane to Real Madrid in 2001, Neymar to PSG in 2017, Messi to PSG in 2021.
