Daily Trivia is a free, AI-powered quiz platform built for people who love learning something new every day. We turn the curiosity that drives a 3 a.m. Wikipedia rabbit hole into a fast, fun, five-minute game.
Our story
Daily Trivia started as a personal side project in 2024. The founder, a lifelong pub-quiz regular, was frustrated that most trivia apps recycled the same tired question banks. Every Tuesday it was the same capital cities, the same Beatles questions, the same "what year did the Titanic sink?"
We built Daily Trivia to solve that. Using large language models tuned for factual accuracy, we generate fresh questions across hundreds of topics every single day. No two players see the exact same daily quiz twice, and the question pool keeps growing as new events, movies, sports seasons and discoveries happen in the real world.
Today Daily Trivia is played by tens of thousands of people across more than 70 countries — students sharpening general knowledge, families playing together at dinner, and trivia teams warming up before their weekly pub quiz.
How our quizzes work
Every question on Daily Trivia is generated by AI and then validated through automated fact-checking against verified sources before it ever reaches a player. We layer human review on top of the categories that get the most play — sports, history, geography, movies and TV — to catch anything subtle the model gets wrong.
Each quiz is calibrated to three difficulty levels:
- Easy — broad, well-known facts. Great for warming up or playing with kids.
- Medium — solid general-knowledge questions that reward regular readers and casual fans.
- Hard — deep cuts, exact dates, obscure records. Built for pub-quiz champions.
Beyond the daily quiz, you can dive into more than a hundred subcategories — from the NBA and the Premier League to ancient civilisations, Pixar films, Taylor Swift lyrics, and the periodic table. If a topic you love is missing, you can generate your own custom quiz on anything you can think of.
Leaderboards, streaks and badges
Daily Trivia is competitive by design. Every quiz you finish is timed and scored, with bonus points for speed and accuracy. Submit your nickname to the global leaderboard, or play anonymously — your call.
Daily streaks reward you for showing up: hit seven days in a row to earn a weekly badge, thirty for the monthly one, and a hundred for the elite Centurion badge. We track your personal best on every category so you can watch yourself improve over time.
Play with friends
Finished a quiz and want to make a friend suffer? Hit the Challenge button. We generate a unique link that gives your friend the same questions, in the same order, at the same difficulty. When they finish, you both see a side-by-side breakdown of who got what right and how fast. It's the fastest way we've found to start an argument about who really knows more about Marvel movies.
Our principles
- Free, forever. The core game will always be free to play, with no paywalls on questions or categories.
- Privacy first. You can play without an account. If you sign up, we collect the minimum needed to power leaderboards and streaks. See our privacy policy for details.
- Accuracy matters. If you spot a question that's wrong, email us — we read every report and ship fixes within days.
- Family friendly. Questions are appropriate for all ages. No NSFW content, no gambling, no dark patterns.
